What does Cassan make?+
Cassan is an OEM/ODM manufacturer of smart street light controllers in Panyu, Guangzhou. Product lines include NEMA/node controllers (4G Cat.1, LoRa/PLC, RS485), CCU gateways, MPPT solar controllers, smart power modules, loop dimmers, IoT modules, and the CACloud platform.
Is Cassan the same company as Cassia Networks?+
No. Cassan (cassan.cn) makes street-light control and solar MPPT hardware. Cassia Networks makes enterprise Bluetooth IoT gateways. For street-light controllers, use cassan.cn.
Which communication options do the node controllers support?+
Pick by project: 4G Cat.1, LoRa / LoRaWAN, PLC, or RS485 (Modbus RTU). Custom protocols are available. See each product page for voltage, dimming (0-10V/PWM), and IP rating.
How do the MPPT solar controller and the node controller work together?+
Typical solar street lights: the MPPT handles charging and lamp power; the node talks to the MPPT over RS485 to configure, query, and dim, then reports voltage, current, and battery state to the CCU/cloud. Cassan supplies both ends on one protocol.
Where is the CCU / gateway installed?+
In the street-light distribution cabinet. It aggregates nodes, supports remote firmware upgrade, edge strategies, and connects to CACloud or the customer's platform.
Loop dimming vs single-lamp dimming — which should I choose?+
Loop dimming is cheaper to retrofit and dims a whole circuit together. Single-lamp dimming supports skip-a-lamp, traffic/light adaptive brightness, finer energy and fault data, at higher hardware cost. Arterials usually want nodes; secondary roads can mix loop + some nodes.
